About Danielle
I'm a Midwesterner, from the Chicago suburbs. Many moons ago, with a psych degree from DePaul University, and some photo classes from Columbia College in my bag, I moved to Paris, where I got a photo degree. Though I learned a lot more out and about in the world. My plan was to return to Chicago after a 2-year tour, and so far it's been 20.
In 2020 I moved to charming Moret-sur-Loing, a village close enough for a Paris commute, and also nearer to forests and clean rivers.
I photograph people & places, and people in places. I like being a fly on the wall, but also up close, catching life's poetry fluttering by unnoticed if you blink. I'm a calming, friendly presence in the room, so you won’t mind having me and my camera around.
I fall in love with everyone and everything in front of my lens. (I've always known I wouldn't be a war photographer.) Photographing anything is a celebration of its existence. It's saying a big YES to it, as you click.
Yes, you exist! Yes, you are here! Yes, let's honor and celebrate you, and why not print this out on some gorgeous paper that will last and be shared for years to come!
“Thank you so much for the photos. They are just lovely and have brought us much joy. They make me appreciate what a skill photography is.”
